FROM LAS AMERICAS AIRPORT (SDQ)
We offer a safe and punctual airport pick up service for $35USD (up to 4 people – for more people please get in touch for a price). If you require this service please email us with your name, arrival time, airline/flight number and where you are flying from.
Taxis are available from the airport for $40USD – sometimes you may be able to negotiate this price down a bit.
There is no direct bus from the airport to the city – there is a cheaper option which we will go on and explain however WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS – especially at night for safety reasons.
Exit the airport and walk to your right – the road will curve around and you should see some moto taxi’s waiting. It is about 3 minutes to the main highway where you can wait for the bus to the city. The moto taxi should not cost more than 70 Dominican pesos (around 1.50USD) – always agree a price before getting on.
The local buses heading in to the city will cost around 70 Dominican pesos (around 1.50USD) and take about 40 minutes. You need to get dropped off at Parque Enriquillo – please see below for walking directions from the park to the hostel.
PARQUE ENRIQUILLO
Parque Enriquillo is located around a 5 minute walk outside of the Colonial Zone. It is where a lot of the local buses drop off. To get to the hostel take Av Duarte from the park and walk down the hill towards the Colonial Zone. You will walk two blocks through China Town. After China Town you will see a Colmado (corner shop) on your left – take this left (Calle Restauracion) and walk down the hill until you get to our street (Isabel La Catolica) – take a left and we are number 356 two blocks down on the left hand side. Please take care around Parque Enriquillo where you get off the bus – it is not the nicest area.
PUNTA CANA
Get the Bavaro Express bus from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo – this takes around two and half hours and costs 400 Dominican Pesos. You have two options where to get off. The last stop is at the Bavaro Express terminal. Here you can get a taxi for 200 Dominican Pesos to the hostel and it takes around 15 minutes. The other option is to be dropped off at Av Duarte from here you can walk – this takes around 10 minutes. Take Av Duarte where you get dropped off and walk down the hill towards the Colonial Zone.
